The Muba Studio

Of course, that’s not us in the photo…

Driven by a passion for extraordinary children’s rooms

Behind MUBA Atelier are Andrea and Oliver Beil, the founders of the former kinder räume AG in Düsseldorf. For decades, they have been united by a passion for sophisticated design, high-quality furniture, and the creation of extraordinary living spaces for children and teenagers.

What continues today at MUBA Atelier is the result of many years of experience and a deep conviction: children’s rooms deserve the same design attention as any other living space.

The Beginnings

Oliver Beil, a trained carpenter and graduate engineer in interior design, was already designing children’s furniture during his apprenticeship. Upon beginning his studies, he developed his first furniture collections and quickly made a name for himself far beyond Germany’s borders under the name “Kinderzimmermacher.”

His designs garnered attention in numerous trade magazines, books, and television features. The overwhelming response reaffirmed his vision of designing children’s rooms not only to be functional but also to meet the highest standards of design.

The success story of kinder räume AG

Together with his future wife, Andrea Beil, he founded kinder räume in Düsseldorf in the late 1990s, which later became kinder räume AG.

In the years that followed, the company developed into one of the leading providers of high-quality children’s furniture and exclusive children’s room furnishings in the German-speaking world. The Düsseldorf showroom became a well-known destination for families, architects, and design enthusiasts from Germany and abroad.

The online store also set new standards and established itself as a premier destination for sophisticated children’s room design. Numerous awards, publications, and media reports underscored the company’s high standards and its special standing within the industry.

A new chapter

After more than two decades, Andrea and Oliver Beil decided in 2021 to sell their life’s work and bring a successful chapter to a close.

Yet their enthusiasm for extraordinary design, high-quality furniture, and custom interior concepts remained. Their passion for beauty and uniqueness has remained constant throughout the years.

With some perspective, the desire finally matured to return to their roots and once again bring their decades of experience to a project that aligns with their own vision of quality, design, and personality.

Why MUBA?

Andrea and Oliver Beil share a long-standing and trusting partnership with MUBA. Over many years, numerous children’s and teenagers’ rooms were designed and realized using MUBA’s exceptionally versatile furniture system—both in Germany and internationally.

The combination of individuality, high-quality craftsmanship, virtually unlimited design possibilities, and timeless aesthetics won over not only the designers themselves but, above all, the many satisfied families who were able to make their dream homes a reality with MUBA.

The Founding of the MUBA Atelier

This long-standing connection ultimately gave rise to the idea for the MUBA Atelier. A place where experience, creativity, and personalized consultation meet a furniture system that, like no other, stands for exclusivity, quality, and individuality.

The founding of the MUBA Atelier was therefore not a random decision, but a conscious return to a passion that has accompanied Andrea and Oliver Beil for many decades: designing extraordinary children’s rooms that inspire children and bring joy to families for many years to come.
